Who thinks the BRAVES have a chance to stay competiive for the rest of the season and into the next?

I know the Braves have had one of the worst seasons possible as far as injuries go, and with one of the dumbest trades in recent memory, but i think with their ever present young talent that they can still make some noise, not necessarily make the play-offs but at least disrupt the standings, plus with all the extra payroll room we will have i feel like we could land someone like ben sheets or a big gun at the plate, i was just wondering what you guys thought

They have been plagued with injures but they are only 9 games back which goes to show they have the best farm system in the MLB. however they win finish a few games above 500 but miss the playoffs. Next season expect to see Maddux Smoltz and Glavine reunite (so excited...they need to retire as braves) plus GM frank wren said he will get CC at any cost  plus well have Jurrjens (2008 ROY) and Huddson and maybe Hampton if he signs cheap.

They always have a chance next year, but I don't see them playing very well the rest of the way out.

Way too many holes in the lineup right now.  They have a decent team but have to stay healthy.  Next season will be much better for them.  The Phillies will repeat as division champs.

The Braves are definetly young and had a devastating amount of injuries to their team this year.  They need some help in several areas on their team particularly pitching.  They are playing very inconsistent baseball right now.  Hopefully they will finsish the season on a positive note and make the necessary changes to make a true playoff run in 09.

The Braves will probally be a sub-par team down the stretch,but keep in mind,John has been really quite in the trades circle the last few years and has been cutting away at a payroll that has been too high for who they had.He's gonna be active this winter and bring in the help they need to make another run while Chipper and co.are still productive.Take that to the bank.
