  1. MEEEEEEEEE. Not coz of AFL just coz it's freaking boring. and I don't wanna hear/see drug cheats or China's human rights issues for that matter.  If they are gonna censor everything and be some d**n controlling why did they put their hand up to host the games? d**n communists.

  2. No, The olympics are great and so is footy. If you don't like the olympics then don't watch Simple!

  3. I was over the Olympics when 4 years ago they announced China was going to hold them...

Its all way too political now..

Why would they award them to a dirty, smoggy corrupt country not to mention the whole Tibet thing.

At least it will be a distraction to the whole Collingwood debarcle atm!!

  4. Well never did care for track and field. I was always into football (American style) baseball and boxing. I know I won't be watching any thing except  boxing.

  5. It doesn't worry me because I only watch Foxtel. I can't stand all the ads & self promos on free to air.

There wont be much of the Olympics on Foxtel so I wont be too inconvenienced.

Anyway the commercial channels must think the viewers tune in to watch & listen to their commentators - not the sporting events. When Channel 7 had the rights I got so sick of that stupid grinning face of Bruce McAvaney & his endless condescending prattle that I refused to watch the coverage.

  6. i agree

    the olympics are boring

nobody follows the so called sports they play

  7. Not really because of AFL but a lot of my favourite shows get delayed or shoved over because of extended news reports and stuff. I HATE that! Channel 7 is covering the Games this year, something especially annoying because I know all my shows are gonna get shoved into a later time, or, God forbid, cancelled altogether.

  8. I do like footy better than the Olympics, but you can't call them a hinderance. It's fine by me if the Games are only once every four years, that's enough for me, and because they don't happen every year, I can handle them. I will most likely be watching more footy than the Olympics in the next couple of weeks anyway.

  9. good stuff missy give me more AFL on the weekend anytime, olympics are a competition of chemists not sports peoples, you have to wait a week to see if/when the gold medalist is a drug cheat

  10. Can't see the wood for the trees or just live the cloistered life in parochial Melbourne? You should get out more.  Maybe even try playing some sport yourself.  There are better things than watching _other_ people play sport.

The Olympics are an opportunity to see how the other half live. Watch the pinacle of other sport.

  11. OMG! YES! the thing i hate about them is that for the two weeks they are on they take over the tv! Now im not a big tv watcher, i watch maybe half an hour a day but when i do feel like watching it i turn it on and the effin olympics are on! i mean jesus christ! Who cares!

  12. Not me.

Because I don't live under a rock & venture out only when Aussie Rules football is on.

I'm not good enough to participate in any of the Olympicv sports but good luck to those athletes who are there - to represent Australia in your chosen sport at the Olympics far outways playing a sport confined to our nation.

  13. Well the Olympics are really showing how hard people have worked to get where they currently are. I love AFL as well but I can at least appreciate what these people have done to get there.

The media coverage is a bit ridiculous but its not like it happens every year.
