Who thinks the hawks could be real contenders this year?

i went to the game the other night and they were awsome,i know they only beat my up and down blues but the run and style they played said to me they could give the finals a real shake do you agree?why/why not?

i definetely have to agree they are alot more effective with their use of the ball than the last few years and if they dont do something this year the next few years are looking promising for them

definately and everyone get ur bets in  i think they r still 18 dollars for the premier ship even essendon have better odds pretty good odds seeing as they r 3rd on the ladder

Yeah I definitely agree. They are really playing some attractive footy. They have found some good form and are working well together as a team, with the game plan that best suits them. I think this year and next and even after that they will be serious contenders. They have really showed everyone what they are made of.

I have said this for a few weeks now they are the only team who has beaten both the cats and the eagles which in itself is a feat. finally after so many years watching them in the bottom of the table they have come good and whats more i enjoy watching them beat the teams who would have flogged the @ss off them a year or two ago...

Depending on the make up of the final 8 (with the form this season who knows how that could go) i think they have a shot at the flag...

If you finish in the 8 you are a contender, if finish top 4  you have a real chance .   I had been worried about the Hawks depth, and the fact they had not used many players this season, but wow , Buddy Franklin BOG one week with 6, the next he is virtually not missed .  That has to be a sign of a good side.!  As for your Blues, their previous 'good form' was a  reason for their down fall .  As the saying goes, you only play as well, as the opposition let you, and to the Blues credit, that form in one way, prompted "meticulous" planning by the Hawks in  closing them down.  The science behind the intelligence gathering on clubs is enormous.   Sydney beat the Hawks recently, and play Collingwood this week, and on my calculations should beat the pies by 2 goals,but will they.?   Next week Hawthorn play Collingwood, and on the Hawks current form should blow the Pies away.    The intrique

Hawks are real contenders. They have beaten West coast and Geelong. But i think if they come up against a powerhouse side like sydney in the GF they will lose

Definately could be a surprise package come September. The only problem is that so could another 5 teams.

Collingwood, Kangaroos, Adelaide, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs could also surprise a few during the finals.

Its going to be a close one this year but its certainly possible for the Hawks to do well.

they are a reaL chance the only possible problem isn't the talent it is whether they can handle finals pressure, if they can then they will be hard to beat and if not well then they will get experience and be there over the next few years regardless

Hawks have certinly improved this year, i dont believe teams can play "above themselves" that statement is total rubbish and i hate hearing people say it!

Question is, will the kids tire out towards the end of the season? If so, they need to go to Box Hill Hawks for a top up! With Williams/Dixon still to come back in the side i would say that they can probably win a final and make 2nd week of finals.

Probably 12-18 months away of being a real threat.

i think they are a very good team young but very good style of play.... as far as the flag i think they will make the top 4 but i dont think its a flag this year but next year couls be a different story...
