  1. i think they'll go further than last year but they wont win the superbowl

  2. I think he will do more damage to the Jets then the Jets will do in the league with him. I do not see them making the playoff this year at all. Being from Wisconsin I got to see almost everyone of his games. Although an outstanding QB he is no longer in his prime. Once he throws a couple of picks and loses the game for the Jets the NY media will crucify him. He is an egomaniac and wants attention and people to like him. This will be a problem. Another problem is he did not want to go to the Jets but went there because there was no other option. So is his heart truly with the Jets. After this season be prepared for the constant retirement talk out of him. He does love the media. And watch out he back stabbed the packers bad...for his own personal glory and satisfaction.  If you think he can single handedly make the Jets playoff contenders you are kidding yourself. He is also a terrible big game QB. read this   http://online.wsj.com/article_print/SB12...

  3. Only time will tell.  The biggest question is if that O-line works out.  Will Jones have a good year running the ball?  If these things come together, watch out!  Favre could have an MVP type year.  The Jets could vie for not only playoffs, but do some damage once they get there.

But the harsh truth is that Favre will take time with the playbook.  I expect him to learn everything by early to mid-season.  That is when the Jets offense should really start to take off.  Anything can happen with Favre, of course.  He gives your team a chance to win any time he steps on the field.  But the worst thing is when the rest of the team struggles and then Favre tries to make up for it by flinging the ball around and tosses up INTs.  If Favre goes into Superman mode, then expect some bad and good days.  If the rest of the team can work together and Favre can learn all the plays quickly, then you might see magic happen.  Wouldn't that be something?

There could be something really special happening if Favre comes back the next couple of years.  And I expect that he will.  I believe that he will get along with his new team.  They will have some success this year and Favre will find them more than accommodating.  As they become more comfortable with each other, they will definitely become Super Bowl contenders, if not this year, then in a year or two.  That is the impact of Brett Favre.  Once Favre has his last ring, he can finally retire the way he should.  He might have done so in Green Bay, but Thompson ruined it.  There will be no championships for the Packers any time soon.  The Jets have a better shot now.

-----Cyborg_2099 has no idea what he is talking about.  Have you even watched Favre over the years?  Have you seen his dedication to the sport through personal tragedy, time and time again...almost uncountable?  He has given more to this sport than perhaps any player in history.  How is that selfish?  Favre kept quiet.  The Green Bay staff opened their mouths first.  Have you watched the Packers at all?  Or are you just buying into all the recent media hype?  Watch, observe and know what you are talking about before you start bashing someone you don't know anything about.

I am a Green Bay fan and always will be.  But I know when something is wrong.  I know this because I WATCH the team.  I see.  Ted Thompson has been hurting this organization ever since he came here.  And the Packers will not win as long as Thompson is around.  Blame the Packers, not Favre.  I am a true and intelligent fan.  I want what is best for Green Bay.  Right now, that is getting rid of Mark Murphy and Ted Thompson.  Please, open your eyes and see the truth.  Don't just follow blindly all those things that those fools in Green Bay or sometimes the media tell you.

There is so much evidence to back up what I am saying that I could keep writing and fill pages and pages.  If you haven't seen it by now, then how will you ever see it?  Thompson is a liar and Favre is a good man.  The Hall of Fame QB only loves football and wants to win.  Thompson will never understand how to win.  Without Favre, the Packers will regress and then collapse entirely in the next couple years.  The Jets are on the rise.

Back to the idea of playoffs, in a stronger NFC, the Packers will find it increasingly difficult to reach the post season.  Whereas, the Jets may actually have a better shot at the playoffs this year.  There remain a lot of "ifs" of course.  But if those ifs are answered in a positive way, then the Jets will soar.  The "ifs" for the Packers do not look nearly as promising.  Their defensive and offensive lines are crumbling.  That does not bode well for any team, especially one with an inexperienced QB.  Those WRs are overrated without Favre throwing to them.  Grant is battling injuries.  The Packers are in for a long year.  The Jets may have everything that Favre loves, a strong line, a fast TE and a couple of capable WRs.  If they have a successful ground game, then the Jets are in the post season.  I wouldn't bet on it, but it definitely sounds promising.  The Jets are a lot more promising than the Packers right now.

  4. He looks like he is having fun!  I think we will see the Jets have a great year and I believe Brett will play some of his best football ever.  He has something to prove...he wasn't all washed up and he didn't need to retire.  I think he will make more than a few people in Green Bay realize what a mistake they made.  I miss him already.  And I need a new jersey!

  5. I think they'll be 10-6 or 11-5...which would get them to the playoffs...but they won't get past the Patriots

  6. No play offs for the Jets. And the Old Man will probably go down with a career ending injury.
