  1. He may have been right about the result

but his protest at the medal ceremony was childish.

Poor sportsmanship is poor sportsmanship whatever the circumstances.

  2. You're up against the whole world. Being third out of the best of the best isn't bad. He should be happy.

  3. Wow, I wish I knew, but all NBC shows is swimming, gymnastics, and beach volleyball. You mean there are other sports in the olympics? Who knew.

So, I can't answer the question if what you mean is "was he right about losing due to poor judging". If what you mean is "was he right to throw down the medal", then I would say no. Poor sportsmanship is poor sportsmanship, particularly at the Olympics. The creme de la creme of world class athletes (i.e. Olympians) should know this.

  4. I think he could have dumped the medal in private instead of right in front of the cameras. It's like his disapproving or refusing to accept the results, kind of like "s***w this" attitude. Shows poor sportsmanship.

  5. I thought it was an absolutely disgusting display of bad sportsmanship and he showed no respect for himself or anyone else.

    Totally horrible thing to do.

  6. When you compete, you have to understand you are not only competing against your opponent, but also against the rules that have been put in place as well as the variables you encounter, i.e. weather, bad officiating, injury, etc.  Abrahamian's display of poor sportsmanship was one of the worst ever, due to the Olympic stage where it took place and the fact that he was upset for not winning more than anything.  There weren't accusations of conspiracy reported, he simply was quoted as saying "I wanted to take gold, so I consider this Olympics a failure" What he did was a disgrace to his country and to the games.

  7. The fact you think he was right scares me. Why? Lets add up how many people EVER win an olympic medal. Compare that to even the amount of people in the right age group right now on earth. And lets not forget that the olympics have been going on for decades, at least the modern incarnation of it. You want to understand how special even a bronze is? Look at the male gymnast all around team, and how they celebrated even more than the Chinese, who won gold, for getting a bronze themselves. In the olympics you are competing against the worlds best. To even say you are third best in the entire world, when the pressure is astounding, is absolutely an amazing thing that should not be thrown on the floor.

  8. i read about it, i didnt watch it.

but i think he shouldve been happy he got something, unless the judging was a rip. like some other sports....

  9. in a sense he was, but come on, he should have been happy with a bronze, i mean its a beautifull medal ya its not as nice as a gold but it should be treasured forever. yes he had a right to protest and be mad but why throw a medal you worked hard for. i would love to win a medal for my country in something.

  10. personally i think it was a bit childish, but at the same time i have never been in that sort of situation where you train so hard devoting your whole life to something for 4 years and to lose it.

  11. The television coverage sucked so I didn't see what you are talking about. Why would the wrestler throw down his bronze medal?
