Who thinks this is stupid?

Question

that nursery rhyme baa baa black sheep is now meant to be baa baa rainbow sheep,

i mean comeon im not racist at all and i mean at allll i just dont see why a very old nursery rhyme needs to be changed

does anyone know why this is or the reason behind it as i would really like to know

It does seem a bit silly to me.  I agree with the individual that it's the first I've heard of it.  There are black sheep out there.  An activity I do with the nursery rhyme is cut out an outline of a sheep from one side of a file folder.  Then I add colored construction paper inside the folder and we sing...baa baa black sheep, then baa baa red sheep, etc.  Maybe that will help out if you do have to actually sing it Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep LOL  Might be fun to add a rainbow striped sheep in there.  Adds some humor to the situation.

This is the first time I've  heard about it.  Maybe it's the daycare's choice?  I think it's silly unless the background of the rhyme is bad.

People get to caught up in things like that! it means nothing. the kids don't know. it's just a color- if you ask me, we should teach them to forget about color all together. look at the problem's it's causing us! Now every little color means something?

It's like religion- they say religion and politics should be seperated- look how much time they are wasting making a big deal out of it! They try to stop every religion from showing themselves- so no one else will be offended. what's next? everyone needs to shower in purple paint and shave their heads so we all look the same? then what- moving us into identical houses?

All i'm saying is we need to teach kids that this stuff does not matter- or maybe someday we really will have to do something crazy so we don't offend people.

HA! Are you serious?? That is a new low. I suggest you tell them  you don't want your kids to sing "rainbow sheep" because the rainbow stands for g*y pride and you won't have your kids singing about g*y sheep. When they tell you that's ridiculous, say "exactly".
