THE ALARM COULD BE HEARD FROM

NEAR AND FROM FAR. HOW ANNOYING

I sound the horn…

That’s one of those

long brass conical shaped

twisty things with the valves.

You’ll recognize the sound.

I bang the gong…

You know it,

the one that looks like a

giant bronze dinner plate.

You’ll recognize the tone.

I ring the bell…

Right. That big one,

like up in the tower.

It has been quiet for some time now.

You may not remember why.

  10. Qu'est-ce que tout ca veut dire?

  11. Huh?  I find it difficult to understand what the question is.  Your question doesn't make any sense to me.

  12. Yeppers, I know the sound of the horn well, the picture of it is perfectly formed in my mind.

The tone of the gong still reverberates in my ear upon occasion, though I do wish it would stop.

I also know why the bell is no longer heard, near or far.

Amazing what a wee bit of verse can dredge from the memory vault.

  13. whowhatwhenwherewhyhow questions...hahaha

  14. My brain has seized up.....whilst reading your question, I definitely heard a whirring noise, a glimmer of light appeared but then suddenly without warning my brain stopped.....now see what you've done.

Why are you sounding a horn, banging a gong and ringing a bell? Apart from trying to annoy people, that is?

  15. "You rang?"

    Lerch

  16. Re-phrase for poor foreigners please.

I like the poem, though. Very sound and sonorous.

EDIT: Elaine, tu crois qu'il est devenu fou? Or is it the gong on the head?

  17. I posted one in Martial Arts category.  Not a good idea.

  18. Yeah, alarms are really annoying no matter what ring tone you choose. Especially when you are too sleepy to wake up. It's more often the persistence of the sound that's annoying.

  19. Interesting question.

    Interesting poem.

    Gee you are interesting.

***By the way I understand your question dont worry!
