Who thought the rays would be this good

during the off season did you have a thought the rays would make such a turn around and don't lie i am not saying during spring training or the beginning of the season i am talking about the winter did you think this would happen

I told my friend last season that they would win the world series this year. but i was being sarcastic because they had the worst record in the league last season. and now it might come true. I scare myself sometimes.

I somewhat called this during spring training. I said that they would win 83-88 games and compete for the Wild Card all year. They have exceded my expectations but I was closer then other people.

The 100,000 Rays fans before opening day. Of course, the millions of them now say they do. Most of them are bandwagoners just wanting to fit in.

Hoesntly, i didnt think they would be in first place at this point.

Of course BJ Upton did have a break out year last year, but i always thought the Rays would remain in the gutter until they gain some pitching.  Their bullpen ahve been horrbiel for years.  A lil more stable now.  The starting pitching have settled down greatly and their hitting has improved.  Yet they are still using their old tactics of base-stealing.

So, overall i am surprised, but they didnt really aquire a lotta players this year that made them better.  It was the pieces they already had that made them who they are now.

i actually did think they would finish above the O's and possibly the Jays...maybe finishing close to (but under).500.

Competing for the wild card?no chance.

Competing for the division, and holding a lead in Aug? someone revive me.

They are having one of, if not the most unbelievable (with all due respect to the 69 miracle mets) season ever. At least compared to what pretty much everyone thought they would do
