Ok Gary Neville is the captain and a legend but I think Wes Brown should play, he definitely proved he was worthy of the first team last season as he was brilliant. When Neville got injured United fans were worried about who would play RB and wanted to sign someone but fergie put his confidence in Brown and it payed off and he was fantastic. Therefor I think we should start with WB and substitute about 70 minutes in. If WB is on the bench all season he'll move then when GN retires we'll have to sign someone else to play there.

Gary was (for the most part) brilliant against Pompey. I think we should give Gary a few games to see if he's back on form, because when he is, there are very few better right backs. Wes did an outstanding job last year but Gary deserves it as captain.

I think it could be Gary Neville because he needs the games, but i would feel sorry for Wes because he has been superb while Neville was injured, but Fergie doesn't go on sentiment and Gary Neville is the best player in that position.

I saw WB play RB against us and he played brilliant in containing Henry, definitely his best position, fergie might start Neville because he's been out for a long time, but he will be a bit player and Brown will play the big games I'm sure.

Brown should play. I think Neville should get FA and Carling Cup games. Wes has done a lot to cement his first team status and i would feel sorry for him if he has to go back to being a sub just after penning a new deal last season. But oh well Fergie knows best...

I agree Brown deserves it, as we seen in the shield Gary wasnt quite fully fit. Perhaps Gary to come on for Wes?

Neville will probably start, but it'd be unfair on Brown. He was great last season, doesn't seem fair to drop him from the team.
