Who to tip for the wedding

Question

who do I have to tip for our wedding?

we're getting married at an inn, and having a small luncheon at the inn afterwards.

then, at 6pm we're having a sit-down dinner at a local resturant with all of our guests (33 people total).

do I tip the inn owner? The justice of the peace?

each waiter/waitress? the owner of the resturant (he's like the event planner or whatever you want to call it)?

and then how much do I tip everyone? I guess there would be a percent that would be traditional....thanks!

I work at a restaurant so I can answer that aspect of it. When you go to a restaurant with a party of that size, gratuity is automatically attached to the bill. Make sure it is, if it is not, tip 20%. That is the standard make the server happy tip. If you think they did a phenominal job, then tip 20-30%. If they did a terrible job, tip 15%. But not less because it was a big party and they still did work their butts off.

If there was gratuity added already to the bill, then you do not have to add another dime. The serves will get that portion of the paid bill after you leave. However, if you feel that they deserve more, offer them extra on top of the gratuity added to the bill. Sometimes the gratuity may not be enough depending on how hard your guests make those servers run. If the owner is personally involved in serving your food and drinks, tip them. If not and they are just stand-by...do not tip them. It would actually be weird and they would probably not accept it. I've never had big parties tip the owners...they're the rich ones anyway and your tip is the fact that you are holding the even in their facility anyway. Trust me, this is the truth.

If you destroy any property, or spill on rugs, etc...offer a tip then and only to the owner. But that's your choice and they don't expect it anyway. It's the risk they take owning an inn/restaurant.

If you wish to tip the justice of the peace, some people do. I will not be as he is charging me $1,400....see what I mean?

If you are taking a limo...tip the driver!

If you have a DJ...tip them!

If you have a separate bar tender...tip them! Unless drinks are added in the bill because they will get gratuity as well and will get that with the servers after you leave.

Traditional good/average percent in my belief is 20%. Adjust on what you can afford and what you believe they deserve.
