  1. I'd say the Wallabies... they play just as rough as the all blacks... but you gotta love the all blacks war dance...

  2. Ireland.

  3. WALES WALES WALES

  4. I'd like to tell you that France is my favorite, because I'm French, because the World Cup is in France and because we won the 6 Nations.

Well we surely have a great team and I think it's a pity to have France, Ireland and Argentina in the same group... 3 of the better teams of the last years.

Ireland was strong during the 6 Nations, but maybe too depending on 3 players: O'Gara, O'Driscoll and Stringer, look against France.

France is too unconstant I think, and we also depend on few players like Poitrenaud, Dominici or Skrela now.

Actually, it's obvious that the Blacks seems to be over the world, but they weren't very good the last World Cup...

It's open, but my favorite are France, Ireland, Blacks, Australia and we must keep England as well,...

ps: French and English clubs are not playing the next European championships, so they will be fresher...

  5. ***F-I-J-I***

  6. NewZealand will france second and then Australia

  7. I think that New Zealand are firm favourites for the world cup but they seem to peak to soon.  I dont think that this will happen this year with the squad that Graham Henry has at his disposal.

My teams to watch are France Ireland, Wales & Australia.

  8. New Zealand will get a shock when they play the irish i reckon!!! the way ireland lost the 6 nations will only benefit them and with leinster and munster being knocked out at the weekend, that just may be a blessing in disguise! keep the players fresh!

  9. Good question - in form the All Blacks but have they peaked too early? Who knows.

Australia will have a say I am sure. France and South Africa may be a good bet too and the Irish deserve to have a good shot this year. They have a team with a good balance and it is their best chance ever.

As for the cup the one thing I would put money on is the fact that it will  not be retained by the current holders and in all fairness based on performances since 2003 should not be.

  10. I can't see anyone beating the All-Blacks.I'm Welsh but I don't think they are strong enough to win it but will surprise a lot of people.Ireland should do well.

  11. New Zealand are obviously favourites but I think that Ireland are the dark horses of this competition and if (I know its a big if) all their key players avoid injury then they can push New Zealand all the way. Twice last year they came very close and this year could be the year that Ireland finally beat the All Blacks. Australia and France cannot be ignored however. France were humiliated be New Zealand last year and I'm sure they'll be waiting in the shadows to catch New Zealand off guard and punish them.

Ireland to beat France in the final

  12. All Blacks, and will be surprised if any side gets within 15 points of them in any game. They are just so so good and the worst part is they're so so good in depth, something other nations really struggle with, all the big nations have a good 1st team, but its what happens when they get a few injuries.. Am from England and cant see us getting past the 1/4's this time round but like the look of Ireland if they can avoid injury to their back 3/4's thou am sure they'll get targeted for some nice friendly Kiwi style tackles when they meet

  13. without looking at the obvious, this years world cup is extremially hard too call.it is a shame to the copition that france, ireland and the pumas are in the same group.

The only teams i can see that are capable of beating the all blacks are ireland and S.A.

if ireland top their group and avoid the all blacks till the final then i think they will win it. But in all honesty its hard too look beond the all blacks.

  14. Being English, I am not saying England. For the Webb this year it has got to be New Zealand, no one else is close to them again. Unless they make a balls up in the knockouts they will win easily.

  15. Not a snowballs....

    Ireland or New Zealand

  16. Unfortunately, the All Blacks could split up into North Island and South Island and they'd probably steamroller all opposition and play each other in the final.Let's face the facts. We've been trying to overlook it for too long.

From one SAFFA to another, this World Cup is all about who's coming second, and the IRB changing the rules at the last minute to level the playing fields, like no more rucking (All Black specialty) and no more 'hit' at scrum time, doesn't seem to be working. Guts and glory won't work this time around. A team can't dominate a sport for decades and only win one World Cup.The odds of that happening are slim. They're long overdue for another win. Look at Brazil, in a true world sport, like soccer, they'll always be the best, like the All Blacks,no matter who wins the World Cup, but odds are that they will win it at least every couple of of tournaments.

  17. france

  18. No way man, All blacks for sure, they are just unstoppable at the moment especially how well the reconditioned all blacks are fitting into the rugby super 14 comp

  19. The team that does fantastically before the world cup never ends up winning the tournament... thus I think South-Africa is the best bet! Go Springbokkies!

  20. No mate, to be honest you can say what you want about the All Blacks being chokers, but this time it should be theirs!

You only have to see what effect a few returning ABs have had onthe Crusaders, Blues and Canes to see the wealth of talent NZ have at their disposal.

No, there's not going to be a phenomenal and miraculous French victory (a-la 1999), New Zealand's back 3, will productively counter any fortuitous French kicking

Ireland? Mm-mm they're Locks may trouble NZ at the line-out, but they are reliant on their clinical backs to finish their good 1st phase.... man for man though only NZ's backs can boast far more pace, power and of  course Carter~

In fact that is going to be the story of the World Cup; Get Carter, but how...when he's got McCaw stealing everything for him, Collins protecting him and Soi'alo doing a bit of both?

    O'Gara vs Carter= NO CONTEST!!

And the Boks? Here I'll agree with you, the only team I can see capable of downing the Abs are the Boks. They have the advantage in the line-out, they have the muscle power in the forwards & have the sort of loose forwards that might just be able to physically dominate the ABs (bar Collins of course, he's indomitable). And if that rush defence clicks, it may just force Carter into his shell (like in 2005 Tri-Nations victory) and .... if he kicks....  hopefully, some attack-minded full-back will unleash Bryan Habana or JP Pietersen on the ABs and test them out wide~

When all is said and done though; I feel Paris in 2007 is going to be a BLACK BLACK day~
