  1. Before the death of Queen Elizabeth I on March 24, 1603, she already decided to pass the crown to her nephew, James VI of Scotland. His claim to the English throne comes from his mother, Mary Queen of Scot who's paternal grandmother was King Henry VIII's elder sister, Princess Margaret Tudor.

Since Elizabeth I did not have any children, King James VI of Scotland was considered to be the most suitable and rightful heir to inherit the crown. Elizabeth I's death not only symbolize the end of The Golden Elizabethan Ear, but also the end of the Tudor Dynasty. When James VI was crowned King, he became King James I of England and estalbished the House of Stuart.
