Who topped the weekly sales charts, Batman: Arkham City or FIFA 12?
With all the individual platform charts taken care of it is now time to take a look at the overall video game sales charts in the United Kingdom and see which game put the biggest smile on its developer’s and publisher’s faces.
10. Gears of War 3: Epic Games’ final chapter of Marcus Fenix’s trilogy may be doing well for itself on the Xbox 360 Charts, but it seems that it is struggling when the playing field is broadened and games from other platforms enter the
mix.
Having said that, the game still managed to record one the largest openings in the United Kingdom for the year and is still selling well enough to keep it in the top ten.
9. Zumba Fitness: 505 Games have made themselves the enemy of almost every hardcore gamer as they have come up with a product that takes on the title of video game, but is nothing a video game should ever be. We will be more than a little
glad when this runs out of stamina and falls off the charts.
8. Rage: IdWorks developed a solid first person shooter, set in a post apocalyptic world, yet at the same time a number of glitches prevented it from satisfying fans as much as they would have liked.
7. Pro Evolution Soccer 2012: Konami will be disappointed with how their latest iteration of their long running football simulation series has sold in its first few weeks. The standard they would have set themselves would be to match their
arch nemesis, FIFA 12. Sadly, that has not happened.
6. The Sims 3: Pets: making its debut the previous week, the game managed to sell well enough to secure a top five place finish in the PC charts. Being a single platform release, it is an impressive feat for the expansion pack to end the
week in sixth place overall.
5. Just Dance 3: the game where the gameplay reflects what is written on the title, the latest dance game by Ubisoft, is selling in promising numbers and will continue to do so for a few more weeks at the very least.
4. Forza Motorsport 4: one of the best racing experiences on the Xbox 360, Forza Motorsport 4 has enjoyed another solid week in the charts, yet it seems it could not ward off competition from some of the ‘new kids on the block’.
3. Football Manager 2012: It is no surprise that the football management simulation game is managing to sell as well as it is. While EA Sports’ FIFA may be the game to play, SEGA’s Football Manager 2012 has always been the game for those
who would rather manage.
2. FIFA 12 and 1. Batman: Arkham City: following the trend that was set on every individual platform chart, FIFA 12 has fallen behind as Batman now patrols the rooftops on the top of the charts in the United Kingdom.
