Question:

Who truly feels that the SEC gets shut out of the NC game this year?

Me I think so. The NC game is most likley coming down to these five

teams. Ohio St (Big 10), USC (Pac 10), West Virginia (Big East) and

Oklahoma and Missouri (Big 12).

Why?, well last year was just plum crazy, and the odds of a two loss

conference champion making it into the NC game two consecutive years is very highly unlikley. I feel that the SEC champion is a two game loser this year, therefore gets shut out. Your opinion

  1. The real question is which team that you just listed could beat the SEC Champion? Your obviously correct that it is probable for the SEC Champion to get shut out, but it is also just as probable that any of these teams could get shut out also. The real problem is that any of these teams you listed would have major trouble beating the SEC Champion.

  2. It's hard to see a title game w/o an SEC team.  The conference has four teams in the AP's first poll of the upcoming season, and one voter even put Florida at No. 1 (ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit).  So rest easy, the SEC will represent.

  3. Let's play a few games first. I think you might be right about the 2 loss thing, but I think that is because all SEC teams have at least one glaring weakness. Georgia had how many arrests this season? That says something about their heart. They also couldn't beat 6-6 USC last season, and struggled with Vandy and Troy. I really think that if they played any other BCS team in the bowl, they wouldn't be ranked number 1 right now. Hawaii was terrible, and struggled against a couple very bad teams. They managed to pull out wins against some lesser teams to end up in a game they had no business playing.

Florida has zero defense. Michigan couldn't beat a d1aa team, then fumbled twice at the goal line, threw a pick in the endzone, and STILL beat florida.

LSU lost their 4 best players on defense, and their 3 best players on offense. They are young, and talented, but still have a lot to prove before I would call them a national title contender.

As I said, it's still early, but I think that a 2 loss team in the SEC probably wont deserve to be in the NC game. I agree the SEC was the best conference last season, and agruably the best the season before(despite a losing record to the lowly big ten in bowl games) but just because a team loses 2 this year in the SEC, I am not ready to call them the best in the country, especially since I see 2 other BCS teams going undefeated(USC, WVU, and Oklahoma all have a shot.)

  4. LSU will be back in the title hunt.  They have an Ohio State type schedule (soft) this year.  Their main question is quarterback but with the soft schedule particularly in the first half of their schedule, that will no longer be an issue.  Ohio State will get blown out by USC.  I predict the match-up that we've all wanted for years:  USC versus LSU.

  5. Well theres always a chance the SEC wont make it to the national title game.Everyone seems to be very equal and USC and Oklahoma look to have the best track to the national title game.Ohio State does have a good chance but wont make it because of there lost to USC,but who would want ohio state in that game..again? they play in a weak lacklust conference.West Virginia could finally get in but they have to not have brain lost when they play pittsburgh or s.florida.Lsu did make it to the national title game with 2 loses but ohio state played in a weak conference and still lost one.florida lost 1 game in there year but still were able to get in because they looked to have a better chance.Yah everyone could beat the sec champions but can they beat them on a big pressure situation game? i dont think so.Remember in college football everyone can be anyone on any givin day its just when they decided to set up.

  6. On your premise that the SEC champion has two losses, you may be right. That boils down to the round robin between FL, GA and LSU. If one of those teams sweeps the other two, they're in. And Ohio State loses again.

I say we play a few games before declaring who could beat who. Just ask Michigan and USC how that works.

Texas Tech? What football conference title have they won recently? Division title? I wouldn't bet the farm on them against the SEC champion.

  7. The SEC has several teams capable of beating each other including the SEC Championship game including Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Alabama, and Auburn.  Georgia also has to travel to Arizona State including the onews you mentioned as well.

  8. No way.

  9. No. The Big Ten...yes.

  10. I think Georgia will be the national champions this season. They're returning plenty of starters from a team that went 11-2 last year and finished at second place. Their quarterback is very talented and their ground attack appears to be dynamic. Also, don't leave Florida and LSU out of your title game projections. However, even if the SEC is shutout from the title game it probably will be more a matter of the SEC team having too tough a schedule to put up a good enough record rather than a matter of the team not being good enough too make it.

  11. Thats were your wrong. UGA is going all the way and there aint a d**n thing you can do about it.
