  1. I freaking love Chinese food. One of my good friends owns a Chinese restaurant and is the most banging food in town. You've gotta love it. I just wouldn't eat Chinese food in NYC or somewhere where the sanitation and health standards might be a little less enforced.....

  2. i love it..

    but you can`t ask this.

    it`s all up to you.

  3. If you believe every rumor you hear, you would give up ALL food.

  4. i love chinese food

  5. I love chinese food and its no more risky than eating any other cuisine. Jeez if we believed everything we read we would just curl up and die!

  6. I love Chinese food. The restaurant that I get take out from is very clean and I trust their food. I could NEVER give up Chinese food, ever.

  7. I love Chinese food.  Ignore the rumors about strange meats.

One of our TV stations took weeks checking Health Department reports on many restaurants in our area.  All the Chinese restaurants on the list had major marks against them but so did all the IHOPS.

I still go to Chinese restaurants.  My favorite is a buffet place where you can also get meals off the menu.  It is clean with very nice people running it and great teasting food.  You've got to ignore those stories and think about how careful you are when you cook in your own house.

Go to www.snopes.com and type in Chinese restaurants.  You'll see evidence about those nasty, untrue rumors there.

  8. That is why they have the food inspectors.  You have better things to do then to start rumors?  There are people who work long hours in these business in order to make a living.

You just want to prank them, what is your real reason?

  9. just stay away from muslim food they dont euthanise their animals before they kill them

  10. Another good story for you. I retired from a local Fire Dept. One day on bldg. inspections we went to a Chinese restaurant. It was closed, so we had to knock. Upon entering, the place smelled like urine, the whole place. The floors were filthy. Upon entering the kitchen I asked if they spray for bugs. I was told that they spray everything. The walls, floors, ceilings and all over the food that was cooking. Ugh! The floors were so slippery it was hard to walk on them. Upon further inspection we checked the dumpster and found what appeard to be a carcus from a cat. Needless to say, I called the Health Dept. They closed it down. Now a new drug store is on the site. Just because they eat that kind of stuff over there does not mean that we do.

  11. Yikes should we give up Chinese food??? I don't have a weak stomach.I have seen first hand the preparation that goes into the making of the food. It isn't pretty. Why haven't I called in the health dept??? As seen on the show 20/20, Chicken was left on the bottom Shelf uncovered in a hot kitchen with other kinds of food on top and bottom of it. Pans of chicken on the floor waiting to be cooked. Yes I keep going back> Why?? Because it happens in lots of restaurants and besides when they cook it then most of the germs die. What I don't know won't hurt me hopefully.

  12. I eat it at least twice a week.  Just make sure you go to a clean place...just like any other restaurant.  Some are good and some are bad.

  13. I can describe some "Caucasian" restaurant stories firsthand that would make your hair stand on end. Like the very expensive hotel restaurant I used to work at where the chefs would, literally, recycle the salads and veg off people's plates if it looked "uneaten." To save costs, of course.  I didn't last long and I have no idea if anyone was able to provide enough proof to get the restaurant in trouble.

Lesson?  Be careful about your stereotypes or you could end up blithely eating someone else's soup.

  14. Just because you hear terrible stories on Chinese food doesn't mean you have to give up on it. I love Chinese food and I don't see anything wrong with it.

  15. I enjoy Chinese food and I work in the food service industry and have been at it for 20+ yrs. Her is my take. I believe that years ago as Chinese immigrants began to open restaurants other people that disliked their arrival in the U.S. and even the Chinese themselves, started or cultivated and spread the rumors that hang over these places still today. This is not helped by the eating habits and ingredients used in Asian countries that seem strange to those that  have never visited these places. For sure there are places that break health codes and use suspect product in their restaurants, but that happens in  a broad spectrum of the culinary world.  There are good , honest people  and there are incompetent people running restaurants  in the U.S. , and you should use your city's health Dept. , word of mouth, and your own eyes to decide where to eat. My own tip..check the bathrooms..if they are clean then generally the rest of the place should be also.

Among restaurant inspections with a total score of >80,(which is good) at lease one critical violation was cited in 44% of those inspections . (That means 44% of all places in this survey by the CDC had a critical violation.) In a cultural breakdown:Fast-food restaurants (mean score = 79.9) had mean scores similar to independent (80.9) or chain (82.1) full-service restaurants. Small variations were noted in mean scores of restaurants serving specific types of cuisine, such as Thai (83.1), barbeque (82.9), pizza (82.3), Italian (81.0), Chinese (77.7), Mexican (77.4), Japanese (76.4), and Indian (74.8) foods.

This indicates that everyone can do a little bit more in this industry to maintain a higher standard. And it shows that only a few points separate these restaurants and you would do well to investigate everywhere you eat. We in this industry take pride in our work just like you do.

  16. I don't necassarily TRUST chinese food but i will continue to eat it :)
