Question:

Who wants some rats?

I have 13 male female dumbo rex and smooth haired rats for sale. They were born May 23rd. I live in Iowa and can't find anyone to take them or buy them. They are so sweet and lovable. I don't want to sell them to a pet store, because they will most likely be sold as feeders. They are starting to be too much of a burden. If you know anyone that wants them, please tell them to go to http://www.freewebs.com/baskerzeke/ I have tried posting ads. I think I have 6 ads up. It doesn't help.

  1. How can eraser eraser say that pet shops sell to people who have no right when you should have no right in breeding animals you havn't already found homes for. If you breed animals, you should be prepared to keep all of them then try to find homes if you can, you should of thought about this before you bred rats who can have sooo many babies at one time. Now you're stuck with them, or a 'burden' as you describe them, though no fault of their own I might add...

  2. aww she cute

I would take one but I live in CA.

    Good luck with this

  3. :( mannn!!! i want one!! but i live in sacramento... -_-... good luck with selling/giving them away... :)

  4. Aw, cute!  Sorry, but i can't take one, but there is this site just for rats that people would be glad to help and you would probobly get more replies than here:

  5. Have you actually asked the pet stores about their policy on buying rats?  They may be willing to sign a contract saying they'll be sold as pets only.  I know Petsmart sells fancy breeds like dumbos for higher prices than regular rats so they may be willing to sell them only as pets.

  6. oooh so cute!

  7. Aww, if only I lived closer to you, I'd take them all :)

And good for you for avoiding pet stores! If they aren't sold as snake food, they will be sold to people who potentially know nothing about rats and have no business owning any.

And other than that, good luck finding them good homes. Have you tried posting ads on these sites yet?
