  1. It's not the same without the Bears, my second team behind Balmain.

They should axe Melbourne from the comp, give the licence to Norths, who should relocate to the central coast and forever after be known as the "North of Sydney Bears".

Melbourne don't deserve a team. It's a city of nearly 4 million, the team is leading the comp, and they can't even get 20,000 to a game.

  2. They should introduce a second division of 16 clubs from QLD and NSW (and elsewhere if they are good enough) and have a promotion/relegation system every year.  2 up and 2 down.  Have the top 2 divison 2 teams play against the bottom 2 divison 1 teams at the end of the season to see who rises, falls or stays put.

Then there is a chance for many of the other clubs with long histories to survive and thrive.

  3. Yeah I do But may be as the Central Coast Bears

  4. yes but while manly are around it would only be a dream for the bears supporters, manly are the parasites of the league ,maybe they should join the dogs as they are of the same ilk.

  5. Firstly let me say that I loved the NS Bears, please note... 'loved'

but North Sydney (or inner northern Sydney) isn't the place to have an NRL team, not any more, I think you would really struggle to gain member numbers let alone crowd attendance, which is why they were dropped in the first place, its all about money remember. Anyway its too hard to compete these days, with soccer, AFL, NRL, Union etc.... But hey, dreams are free ; )

  6. I like the old days when there was North Sydney, Newtown, Wests, Balmain  (my favourite). Before everything was 'glammed up'.

  7. If they are a financially and player level competent they should be allowed back in the comp. Some great footballers have come from the mighty bears, and i am a queenslander so i am not biased. It all comes down to the dollarI have travelled to north sydney oval in their glory days and seen some memorable games.Amalgamation of clubs in this case should not be allowed it breaks some great rugby league traditions

  8. It would be great, seeing the team run around again in the famous Red and Black.

    Bigger questions remain though:

    a) Who will finance refurbishment of a stadium, as they should play at North Sydney Oval,

    b) Where will the players come from to fill this team, most teams a holding on to their better players,

Answering these questions will be the start, then they will need to lobby the NRL.

It is unfortunate that the North Sydney Bears could just disappear from the game due to Manly.  Of course, this was Manly's plan all along, they did not want to be associated with the Bears, and least of all, they did not want to play their games on the Central Coast.
