It was his call not to pit that won the race for Junior? It was a gamble but had he pitted he would have lost and what's with passing the pace car isn't that against the rules

I have to say that this is the first time I have ever heard of a crew cheif being fired because the driver is only 3RD IN POINTS! that is so stupid. Who woudl fire the crew chief when the driver is 84 points out of the points lead and it being 15 races into the season. dont make any sense.

they better not fire him do they not remember what happen in i think 2004 when they had that big crew switch junior finished 19th in points do we really want that again? i don't think so they have to keep eury and the whole gang and yes passing the pace car is against the rules and they told junior to stop and he did

A few years back when Jr. was still at DEI they tried changing Crew Chiefs around and send Tony jr. to Mikey's then #15 team and Jr. did not do well at all.  They went through 3 crew chiefs before Jr. and tony Jr. were reunited.  It was ugly when Jr. was without Tony Jr.  I don't want to go back there again.  Yeah Tony makes judgement calls thats what Crew Chiefs do some of them pay off and some don't.

Dude, they got lucky the caution came out again with Carpentier spinning or else he would have run out of gas with  a lap to go and finished maybe in the top 20.  Still believe it was a bad move on his part not to pit but this time it worked out for them.  80% of the time it would have backfired so I don't think Eury is out of the hot seat yet.  Let's see them win one without fuel being an issue then he can start gloating a little bit.  Don't get me wrong I'm a huge Jr. fan but not a fan of Eury's strategies.  They got lucky

It WAS a gamble.  But sometimes you have to take a big risk to win a big prize.  Being 3rd in the points, I think it was an OK risk to take.  They took the risk and this time it worked out.  Good for them.

He is a good crew chief. I wouldn't want to fire him, They are doing just fine.

First of all, the rule of passing the pace car is not what everyone thinks. You don't just instantly get black flagged for passing the pace car. Juinor wasn't that far in front of the pace car, and he eventually dropped back, why is everyone complaining about this, juinor won the race, good for him.

I didn't see any reason to fire him in the first place.  He's a good crew chief, just like Chad Knaus, despite the face that he works for the "dark side." (HMS)
