Who wants to help me saving 200 hectares of planted trees from being cut?

I own a farm of 221 hectares, 200 hectares are planted with laurel trees, I don´t want to cut them but I need some money to keep the trees from being cut.Any one who wants to help?

Sounds like a wood lot to me mate, you in NZ?

Cut some (trees are a renewable resource), just don't clear cut... study some sustainable forestry books and replant what you cut. Maybe plant a variety next go around.

I know it was just the way it came out, but your post kind of suggests Eco extortion... pay me or the trees will die.

firstly are laurel trees native to your area,

is there any  interesting fauna and flora in the plantation ,if yes  I would say this space worthy of protection.

If on the other hand, the  land where the trees are planted, previously maintained higher levels of biodiversity,I would suggest felling and then reintroducing some grazing pressure to stop any natural regeneration returning.

What was the original intention of planting these  trees ,for them to be harvested.

Timber is carbon neutral,and as pointed out earlier is a renewable resource.

If you do fell these  laurel trees , and area was secured from grazing natural regeneration would occur and the area would still be woodland.

Plus you don't have to fell all 200 hectares  at once.

Note: the above all necessary for Day to Day Life. Please Try to Reduce the usage.

2. Are your Keeping your House free of the following items?

1.Plastic Free. Don’t Store Plastic Bags/Cups/Spoon( for example. Take Cotton Bag with you to market/Shopping)

2.Unutilised items like broken Cycle/Old TV Cover/broken Table/Chairs/Tyres/ Un Utilised/Non Repairable items like Bike/Car/Mixer/Washing Machine/Cooler/Utensils.

Note: Please Dispose this items which is not is use. Sent it for Re-Cycle.

3. What type of Conveyance are you using?

1.Car    2.Two Wheeler  3.Cycle 4.Using Public Transportation/Train

Note: Utilise Public Transportation/Sharing Auto/Car. You can avoid Traffic Jam/Parking Problem.Keep one two wheeler/One Car/One House for each family.( Don’t buy more than that). It will help us reduce Petrol Expenses/Pollution/Parking/Traffic Jam.

Note: Please present Flowers/Anthorium Saplings/Rose/Seeds of Different type of Seeds as Gift to your Friends/Relatives.This will reduce the waste of Plastics Paper/Balloon/Wrapper/Cartoon Box.

AVOID

1. Avoid Smoking/Chewing Tobacco/pan and avoid Smoking/Spitting in Public Place. Smoking leads to Health disorder and it is leads to Cancer.

2. Avoid wasting Food in House/Function. If food is excess, please share the food with Poor. Take limited food in your Plate. Do not throw in dust Bin.

3. Avoid dumping Materials in House/Office. Be Plan before buying any Materials.

4. Avoid unnecessary Travels. Be plan before Travel.

5. Pray Rivers. But Do not throw Plastic Bags/Garbage on River. ( I have seen many people are throwing Garbage bag in river. Rivers are very Important for our Life.

6. Do not use Coluring Agent for Hair. It will make eye irritation/Stain in Shirt collar/Pillow Cover/Bed Sheets.

7. Do Simple Marriage. This will help us to save Money/Food/Transportation/ Reduce  arrangements etc.

Please Run Cycle (if your office/School is near to your Hose) for your Health/Wealth.

Running Cycle is keep your Body Fit. Also it helps us to reduce Petrol Bill/Pollution/Weight/Bulging Stomach/Obesity/Gas trouble in stomach and of course reduce your Petrol Bill/Medical Bill.

easy done.

you have a number of options.

1) you could thin some of the best trees for timber say take out every 3-4 tree and it wont be overly noticeable and should regenerate quickly.

2) you could cut the lower/some branches to sell as pulp.

3) fine some crops that could be planted in between the trees (shitaki mushrooms, truffels.)

4) possibly graze under some of the trees

5) rotate the tree clearing (cut down a 5th of the trees, use some money to replant with seedlings wait for them to mature a bit cut down the next lot)

6) look for harvestable products in the forest berrys, fruits, amber, seeds for consumption, seeds for sale, seedlings. any fruits collected from a forest could probably be sold under the organic banner to.

7) apply for grants to keep it forested (local governments and water companies may do this as it stops salinity/silting/ erosion etc)

that's all i can think of for now (untill i start my honours project :)

but try consulting a forester or forest scientist, they may have some more ideas.

Even if you were to clear cut them, they would grow back twice as fast as long as you don't spray the stumps.  Trees will grow back, there is nothing wrong with cutting them down.  You should research good management practices to find out how you can turn this into a sustainable income.
