Who was J.B. King?

Question

I was reading an old rail road book. It said in the 30's that the name J B King was written on alot of cars across the country.

I'm guessing he was a hobo or perhaps a railway labourer.

does anyone know?

My teacher met jb king and he was a famous hobo that pushed a woman that just came back from veitnam out of the way of a train and they say that his ghost still haunts the town every thanksgiving when it rain
