Who is in my opinion, the most fascinating Egyptian figure in History. From what Historians can gather from the art of the day and simple historic knowledge, he wholly considered Nefertiti his equal and they ruled together until they both ~mysteriously~ dissapeared.

Some egyptologists think that Nefertiti was the fifth Egyptian queen to rule.  Yet, they cannot prove it because most of the accounts of her life and Akhenaten's life were destroyed because of their radical religious beliefs.  They believed in one God, Aten.  Akhenaten actually changed his name from Amenhotep IV to Akhenaten because of his belief.  He overhauled the whole religious system.  Smenkhare succeeded him and destroyed every account of their life.
