There have been multiple Batgirls, Casandra Cain is the current and by far the most bad *** a mute until recently, she is the daughter of a ruthless assassin and member of the League of Shadows who taught Batman.  There's also Alfred s niece who sorta was lame I can't remember her name, and Barbara Gordon whose now Oracle.The Joker shot her in the spine.
