  1. Enjoy you are very lucky to go there...go to mondello beach...you wont regret...

  2. Palermo is in Sicily  south  of  Italy. Their  regional  cuisine  is  great  and  very authentic. Go to Cucina Papoff  one  of  the  best  in  town.If  you  love  seafoods  this  is  your  place. There  are  also  a lot  of  good  beaches  around.Go Mondello and  you  will  find  the good  beaches.Go Alcamo the Sicily  enchanting winery  country. Go to Casale bazan  and  enjoy  the the  hilly  overlooking  historic  of Cefalu.Enjoy  your  visit  to sunny  part  of  Italy.

  3. I was- years ago- it smells- it's chaotic, and dirty- but still an inspirational place to go- if you can, book to see the catacombes- if you like preserved dead bodies! Don't know if they still keep monkies caged in the park to be given cigarettes by uneducated passers by-  but I hope not.

Keep an eye open for bag snatchers and beggars on the streets-

Mondello is where all the city folk go for a day at the sea side and is really lovely- try Cefalu though - such amazing sea!

You have mountains and sea in such close proximity it'll take your breath away-

try pannelle- deep fried chickpea fritters, a squeeze of lemon juice and freshly ground black pepper...oh how I wish I was there again!!

  4. There is an interesting place located on the nord west coast of Sicily: San Vito Lo Capo. From Palermo follow the road to Mondello, pass “Isola delle Femmine”, after Isola delle Femmine, still on the ss113, you will find a crossroad, turn right to Palermo/Mazara on the A29. Keep driving for some km untill you will see the exit to Castellammare del Golfo, also very nice site. After the exit just follow the signs to San Vito Lo Capo.

  5. The best thing is to get a guidebook on Sicily and look for things that you're interested in.  Googling will also give you some ideas.
