  1. The Civil war and Emancipation proclamation made it possible for African Americans to even learn.

    Booker T. Washington was one of those brilliant men that so often walk among us unnoticed. His assistance was mostly in advancing agriculture where he wanted to help share croppers in the South. He had no political ambitions and seemed to withdraw from any leadership positions.

    W.E.B. Du BIOS was a genius of the first order. He didn't seem to hold out any hope that Whites would ever accept Blacks as an equal in a society where majority rules and Whites are the majority.
