  1. george foreman

  2. SIMPLE:  GEORGE FORMAN is the HARDEST PUNCHER in Boxing History.....................

But was he the BEST Puncher?

    NO.

Both men punch harder than nearly EVERYONE else.  However,  Forman has more RAW POWER.  Mike made better USE of the power he had..............WHEN he was in his prime.   Mike was more accurate than George.  His BIGGEST problem with power is that he was not consistant.   Mike is a Genius in the early rounds.   He gets VERY sloppy after a few rounds.

Mike could never score as many KOs as Forman if he punched the way Forman did.    George gets the LEAST possible power out of his punches because he threw his punches the WRONG WAY.  He still had the raw POWER to KO many.

Joe Louis is the BEST, NOT the hardest, puncher in history.  He made the BEST USE of the power he had by throwing his punches correctly.

POWER Alone does not determine the effectiveness of punches.   Balance,  Timing,  Speed,  Accuracy,  all MUST be considered.  Joe excuted THIS better than ANYONE.  ALI had power too believe it or not.  Not like George but more than people realized.   Because of his brittle hands he was more an "Arm Puncher".

If someone had ever taught Forman how to USE his power properly he might have KO'd the entire Next Generation.

  3. It was Foreman's power that brought him back to the title at his advancing age. AWESOME. That should answer that.

  4. Forman. Tyson punches looked harder because tehy were faster(shorter arms=shorter reach) but  he only had powerful power shots. He tyson had no power jab like forman or a cross like forman. tyson had great hand speed but his power was no match for forman

  5. You can't be serious. George would have knocked tyson out with the first punch that he landed on Tyson's chops. Way, way to strong for Tyson. Mike threw a powerful shot but he took a shot like a sissy just like cooney. You can teach a guy to fight but you can't teach a guy how to take a shot to the old kisser. Thats a fact and allways will be!

  6. george foreman had more raw power than tyson but tyson was a lot more accurate, foreman was a slugger who just kept hitting opponents until they fell,it wasn't until his second comeback that he learnt how to make better use of his power, tyson on the other hand had a lot of power but a very short reach and as such he could not afford to slug it out without landing punches, thus he perfected his technique around accuracy and timing, in that aspect tyson was one of the best in boxing, he learnt how to move and time his punches in a way that ensured landing them correctly and damaging his opponents and that contributed to his high knock out percentage (a lot of them in the first round).
