Who was more to blame for Jeff Gordon getting spun out on the restart?

A) Kyle's fault for deliberately holding back on the restart?

B) Carl's fault for getting into the back of the 24 car?

C) Jeff's fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?

D) Other, please expalin your answer.

  2. D) I think it was just a racing incident. Bound to happen in that situation with 2 to go!

    I don't know what was going on with Jimmie and Jeff, but I will say Jimmie's car was not acting right all evening. They missed the set-up or the track changed!

I think you have to say it was Gordons fault.  He certainly would have put the blame on Edwards if he thought it was his fault.  And who would no better than Gordon himself.  Edwards probably wouldnt have admitted he didnt lift if he had a guilty conscience about it.  Busch obviously didnt break any rules on the restart or Nascar would have penalized him.

    But all in all, I blame Carl for not holding back 1 half-second longer.

  9. I say it was a combination of all three. Kyle shouldn't of brought them down so slow and Carl could've checked up a little, and Jeff pulled down a little. I'm a huge Gordon fan and my family is huge Edwards fans. So I don't know how much I can go. I watched Windtunnel last night and someone said that NASCAR should've redone the restart like they do in the dirt races.

  11. d. it's called racing and it was kinda like a perfect storm of incidents...as for the Jeff and Jimmie show, its been reported that they have been at odds of late but hey that happens in the stress of the chase too...

  12. I think it was Jeffs fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He admitted dusing his post race interview that the reason he was 2nd on that restart was because he left the bottom open for Busch to get by. Plus its not the 1st time we have seen jeff spin out on a restart at Daytona.

  13. Im with the President on this. Jeff said it was his fault. He was not happy with himself. I dont know for sure if they(JJ & Jeff) were mad but they got into each other alot during the race. They collided more than once.

  15. Not sure if Jeff and Jimmie where mad at each other but recently they have been tangling with each other so I wouldnt doubt that there is tension between the two. They will eventually work it out, but right now I think both are focused on being competitive.

    Jeff Gordon getting spun on the restart was honestly I think all of the above. Kyle held back on the restart. All the announcers said that and we all know that was true. He didnt want anyone to jump out in line and pass him for the lead and or the win. Carl admitted that he hit the 24 but also said he couldnt lift otherwise he would give up his chance to win. I understand that, but he ended up wrecking a veteran driver and someone who was having a great day. He should have lifted but he was selfish and ddint. Him and Jeff could have made a run to the front, and then Carl could have finished second and or jumped out in front of Jeff and won. Not a bad thing to do. Then it was Jeff's fault for switching lines a little to late, but had Carl lifted that would have been a good move but he didnt so he ended up finishing 30th. At least he is still 6th in the standings. I think that was honestly just a terrible restart and I dont think Kyle should have won but that's only because I dont like him.

  17. All of the above but Jeff took the blame for going to the outside and letting Kyle by on the inside . I think Kyle laying back caused the wreck but oh well that's racing. I don't know why Jeff and Jimmie are having problems but something was wrong with Jimmie's car and they never got it right.

  18. Although Kyle Busch is annoying, Jeff Gordon manned up and he owned that it was his fault. He was SO close.. grrrrr

    I think it was a smart move on Kyle's part. Jeff Gordon is the king of the slow restart, and Kyle took that idea, and put it to good use. So it was a smart decision by him. For some people to blame Kyle for a wreck that happened behind him is kind of ludicrous if you ask me, but some people accuse him of any wrecks that are within 20 cars of him.

    I don't think you can blame Gordon because he was just trying to keep from getting shuffled out of line, and finishing poorly (which ended up being the case anyway)

    And lastly, I don't think Carl should get all the flack either. Like any competitive person, he was not going to back down with just two to go at a wide ope ntrack. Not to mention if he had to back off, then the 40 or so guys behind him would probably have had to, also, and the wreck might have been bigger.

    I just think it was a product of a green/white/checkers at a restrictor plate track with no one wanting to budge in the final laps. I hate it for Jeff Gordon, though, but you can't really pin the blame on any one driver. Instead I just think it was everyone trying to set themselves up to have the best shot of winning.
