  1. I was in special education for 2 years once. I am dyslexic. It didn't stop me from achieving my goals in life. There are many different types of intelligence.

  2. I had a few teachers who tried to put me in special education. Took a lot of test, and passed them all.

I was not mentally challenge, I was just a challenge.

    ViChick,

Don't get discourage, you are smart. Believe me, all you need is time to study and time to learn. People with ADHD have a hard time learning and understaning new concepts but once you learn it, you surpass all other "normal" people.

You master skills far faster than any normal person. Your brain process information in a different way, it's as though it passes  through different channels.

Again, don't give up. You're smart but those genes only works when you exercise them.

  3. My younger sister is mentally challenged and is in Special Education, but I wouldn't want her any different.  (:

  4. I was in special ed when I was younger for reading disabilities. I eventually learned how to compensate for my disability and now I have 2 Master degrees and a great job. I still have trouble with my spelling & writing sometimes but I try not to let if get the best of me.

  5. I am for LD/ADHD and yes, sometimes, especially when people yell at me "Why do you still look confused? I just explained it to you!" And sometimes I get made fun of sometimes for it too. Generally I just feel frustrated, because I know I have good ideas, I just can't put them on the page.
