Mine was Garry Pethybridge Parra Jersey Flegg & Presidents Cup Coach. Later a couple at West Metro Cup, but also had a couple of shockers like Mark O'Reilly (Bobs Brothet), who would make you road run 14-20 km like your training for the City-Surf, some Coaches trained you specifically for the game, others made you feel like it was "Boot Camp" in the Army. Some Coaches inspired you so you would "bleed" for them, others you wanted to shoot, because of their close minded, insular, "clicky" believes!

  1. Best- Ian Henry ( father of the current Raiders coach Neil Henry), I was 8 years old and had no idea of the game, within 2 years, he made sure I understood the rules, teamwork and as a kid, made sure I had fun.

Worst- I've had the misfortune of playing for 2 captain/coaches, and there's a reason you don't see much of that anymore....you can't coach from ON the field.

  2. Both school sports coaches

  3. a bloke called doolan, can't remember his name but he let play all season in the run on side then come grand final told me he couldn't find room for me. mick cooke was the best easy going sorta bloke, work comes first attitude. i mssed a lot of training due to work and still played in the finals and grand final. both coached eastern suburbs in bundaberg.
