  1. Queen Mary (Princess May of Teck).  Before Diana, we have to go back several generations to find a "Princess of Wales".  By definition, a female heir to the throne is always an heir-presumptive, a new brother would bump her down in the line of succession.  So, Queen Elizabeth II was never "Princess of Wales".  Her late uncle was the last Prince of Wales.  However, he inheirited the throne as a single man and, when he wanted to marry an American divorced woman, was forced to abdicate.  Elizabeth II's parents (George VI and Elizabeth, the late Queen Mother) were the Duke and Duchess of York before they became King and Queen.  You have to look back one more generation to King George V.  When Queen Victoria died, her son became King Edward VII.  His second son, heir to the throne after the death of his older brother some years earlier, finally became the Prince of Wales.  His wife, Princess Mary, became the Princess of Wales.

  2. Princess Of Whales. Surely this shouh be posted in Fish not Royalty.

  3. Was it Free Willie ... ??

  4. Queen Mary (Born Mary of Teck),wife of King George V was the last Princess of Wales. He only became Prince of Wales after his elder brother died;Mary had first been Eddy's fiance.

And before Mary,Queen Alexandra( Princess Alexandra of Denmark),wife of Edward VII was Princess of Wales.

  5. The Dauphin of France, when there was such a person,  was married to the Princess of Whales, because Dauphin in French means Dolphin.

It just proves that royalty is fishy.

  6. Mary of Teck
