4 ANSWERS

  1. Helen Willis Moody

  2. if the word has 6 letters only two of the above mentioned are possible :)

    Tilden or Cochet

the other names contain all 7 letters

Lenglen, Borotra, Lacoste, Brugnon (the 4th french musketeer)

an interesting tidbit about Bill Tilden - he won Wimbledon in 1920, 1921 and 1930!!!! 10 years after his 1st victory, unthinkable nowadays. only Boris Becker had the chance to repeat this, 1st win in 1985 last final appearance in 1995 but lost to Pete Sampras.

also Jimmy Connors had this chance. 1st win in 1974, last final appearance in 1984 where he lost to John McEnroe.

  3. You need to be more specific. Are you speaking of women or men? For the women Suzanne Lenglen was the champ for most of the 1920's. In the men's game the 3 "French muskateers" ruled the day. Some people think Ms. Lenglen was the greatest player ever. If it is an American then Bill Tilden may be your answer!

  4. W.T. Tilden won a lot of majors back then. he won wimbeldon 3 or 4 times in 10 years. try him.
