  1. No one was a king, as to become Pres. you had to have been born in the US and we don't have a monarchy, and none of the original 5-6 presidents who may have lived before independence were kings.

  2. The thirty-eighth President, Gerald R. Ford, who served 1974-1977.

Gerald Ford was named Leslie Lynch King Jr. when he was born (July 14, 1913).  His parents separated when he was two weeks old, and divorced in 1915.  When his mother married again, to Gerald Rudolph Ford on February 1, 1916, they began calling him Gerald Rudolph Ford, Jr., after his step-father, although he did not legally change his name until December 3, 1935.

  3. Gerald R. Ford previous name was Leslie Lynch King Jr.
