George the First! (as in Washington...)

Clearly George Washington led this country out of a bloody and uneven Revolution against one of the strongest nations on Earth...with little resources outside of the will of the people to be free.

He led honorably as a General in the war by refusing to mistreat captured enemy troops who did kill and maim OUR captured soldiers! This news traveled quickly around the world and helped our fledgling nation gain stature on the world's stage! He was a scholar, a diplomat and a successful military strategist!

What more could a proud nation want?
