  1. Prost. Everyone who says Senna never saw them race.

  2. Aryton Senna of cause due to the man being a wet weather genius.

  3. They were equally good, Senna was usually faster for pure speed but when it came to who reached the finish line first Prost was just as good.

They drove for the same dominant team for two years and they won a championship each against each other.

Senna was all about destroying the opposition while Prost was there to get the job done.

Prost has gone down in history as the better driver in the same sense that Schumacher is the best ever, statistics.

To me, championship and race victories are not to be ignored but Senna died prematurely.

I believe he would have gone on to many more race wins as well as championships and pretty much equal Prost's stats.

Apart from the cold facts, Senna was a gift to the F1 world, one that was broken too early.

  4. senna

  5. World Champion.Prost 1985/86.

                                             1989.

                                              1993.

    Total races won=51.

    World Champion.Senna 1988.

                                               1990/91.

    Total races won=41.

Figures say Prost. But i disagree,my money says Senna.

  6. Just look at Senna's record at Monaco, especially qualifying! He was simply brilliant, and died too young. Prost was great, Senna was brilliant! In my opinion, in terms of sheer talent, Senna was the best in F1 history, even though Schuey won more races and championships.

  7. Senna every time. Prost was good but Senna was magic.

  8. Got to be Senna. Prost was flawed in that he was spooked by rain.

  9. Prost had panache )

  10. I hate answering these questions, but needs must!

Two supremely brilliant drivers, pushed by one another enraged by one another, impressed by one another, maybe encouraged by one another in a skewed sense. To do all this and be in the same team driving exactly the same car (1988 McLaren-Honda) says a lot about Ron Dennis Man management, even though history documents his favouritism was in the direction of Senna.

I'm sure as water is wet that both men admired and were possibly jealous of the others particular skills- Senna's driving on another level in the wet, Prost's ability to think outside the box to win races.

Although, in death, Senna has developed an almost un-critisiseable (sp?) air (although, you may want to checkout anything said about him by Jacques Villeneuve) he has been rightly judged as a legend of the sport. But Prost, for so long the most successful Modern day driver (his tally of  titles and race wins only beaten by Schumacher in the last 6 years) should not be left on the sidelines. This man is a legend, had some of the most beautiful car control I have ever seen and  is a bloody nice man.

It is so, so futile to say one was better than the other as they were eerily evenly matched.

Please also remember, Prost and Senna were the best of chums (once he had retired!) and he was a pall bearer at Senna's funeral, something I can imagine, he would have been very humbled by.

  11. The first time I saw Senna I said he will die on a racetrack. He drove like a hoon. Prost drives like a Formula 1 driver. He was always going to arrive alive. He is the Professor.
