  1. Yes it was Ali. Pubicity stunt!

  2. Muhammad Ali did fight a Japanese kick boxer

Edit: It was actually the wrestler Antonio Inoki. and it was on 26th June 1976, in Tokyo, Japan. The rules of the match were announced several months in advance. However, two days before the match a whole bunch of new rules were added which severely limited the moves that each man could perform. The rule change that had a major outcome on this match was that Inoki could only throw a kick if one of his knees were on the ground.

  3. it was you are right

  4. in the 70s ali took on japanese wrestler anonio inoki ( spelling? ) in a 15 round exhibition match.

in the '90s there was a bushido tournament ( sort of mixed martial arts ), where over the hill boxers trevor berbick and (i think) matthew saad muhammad both were embarrassingly beaten in their respective matches.

  5. I am pretty certain Ali never took on a kickboxer. He certainly did not do it in the late 80's or early 90's, as he was already tragically incapacitated by that point. He had a match with a professional wrestler from Japan in the 70's. It was a very boring match. Professional wrestler Gorilla Monsoon also put him in an airplane spin during a segment of the old WWWF, again, back in the 70's.

  6. it was tyson
