  1. My guess would be George Dixon, a bantamweight champion circa 1890.

  2. George Dixon was the first Black World Champion.  He won the vacant World Title at 115 lbs in 1890 defeating Nunc Wallace by KO in the 18th round.  He beat Fred Johnson in in 1892 for the 118 lb title. The 70 round fight you are referring to was a draw for the American Title against Cal McCarthy at 115 lbs. He was both featherweight and bantamweight champion during his career.  According to the Boxing Register his overall record was 50-26-44 (27) with 7 no decisions and 3 no contests.  Good question sir.
