Who was the first European player to win the Masters?

It was Seve Ballesteros, who won by four shots in 1980, Gibby Gilbert and Jack Newton tying for second place. It was Ballesteros' second major win, but not his last - he would go on to win here again in 1983, and in all Seve won five majors.
