  3. Kenneth MacAlpin united the Scottish & Pictish Crowns.  Under his rule the Lia Faill (Stone of Destiny) was moved to the ancient Pictish seat of power at Scone in Perthshire.  Scotland is one of the oldest countries in the world, becoming so in the 9th Century.
