  1. medusa i think

  2. I think you might mean Medusa, but she wasn't a god and instead of hair, she had snakes. She had her lovely head chopped off by a chap called Perseus. I think it ended up in a car boot sale, where Athena (now she was goddess...GRRRRR!) picked it up for a song and popped it on her coffee table, which doubled as a shield. And who said mythology was boring?

  3. Well, I don't know if she's a god but I think she was called Medusa.

  4. Her name is Medusa

  5. i know this..its god Medusa!

  6. Medusa.  If anyone looked her face, they were turned to stone.

  7. Medusa. And she didn't have snakes in her hair. There were snakes growing out of her head in place of hair.

  8. First of all, the "god (should be goddess)" I think you're pertaining to isn't a goddess. They're GORGONS. Yes, it's not a typo. There are three beings with snakes for hair, Euryale, Stheno, and Medusa, the only mortal among the three. Technically, they does not have snakes in her hair - they're her hair. Talk about unruly hair.

The most popular gorgon is Medusa, the mortal. She, like the other Gorgons, can turn any living creature into stone with an eye-to-eye contact. In addition to this, she was the mother of Pegasus, the winged horse, with Poseidon who posed as a horse as the father. She was killed by Perseus through decapitation. Her head was presented to Athena who bore it into the shield Aegis. Apparently, despite it eing dismembered, it can still turn people to stones.

  21. Medusa.

In Greek mythology, Medusa (Greek: Μέδουσα (Médousa), "guardian, protectress"[1]) was a monstrous chthonic female character; gazing upon her would turn onlookers to stone. She was beheaded by the hero Perseus, who thereafter used her head as a weapon[2] until giving it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity and today, the image of the head of Medusa finds expression in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.[3] She also has two gorgon sisters.

  22. MEDUSA abit more info: originally a beautiful young woman whose crowning glory was her magnificent long hair, was desired and courted by many suitors. Yet before she could be betrothed to a husband, Poseidon (Neptune)  found her worshipping in the temple of Athena (Minerva) and ravished her. Athena was outraged at her sacred temple being violated, and punished Medusa by turning her beautiful tresses into snakes and giving her the destructive power to turn anyone who looked directly at her into stone.
