  1. Kevin Murray.

I was a Fitzroy fan & no-one goes near that bloke. He had a heart as  big as a watermelon.

  2. I have been loyal to many teams( what do you expect from a NSWelshman! lol. But my all time favourite was Dermott Brereton for Hawks.

  3. From the Adelaide Crows, Darren Jarman or Tony Modra

  4. I'm a StKilda supporter. 19 years old.

Considering the players before my time...

No doubt our most famous players were around the time of the Sants only premiership...

Carl Ditterich, Darrel Baldock, Barry Breen.. but of them I think the best was Ian Stewart (2 Brownlows for StKilda and 1 for the Tigers as well!).

Can't forget Trevor Barker as well.. who played in the 80's.

There's probably plenty, plenty more great players before my time, but I don't know many of them. So, Ian Stewart gets my vote here.

Considering the players during my time (90's to present)

There are plenty of Great StKilda players....

    Stewart Loewe

    Nathan Burke

    Tony Lockett

    Nicky Winmar

    .......and more recently..

    Max Hudghton

    Nick Riewoldt

    Nick Dal Santo

    Lenny Hayes etc.

We Have also had some great club players as well...

For example.. Burke and Loewe were both Captains and both played >300 games at the one club - StKilda..

But also, Andrew Thompson, Justin Peckett and Austin Jones were great players who only played for the Saints.

    Can't think of any more...

OK, so there's one player who I haven't mentioned...

and without a doubt, he is not only a StKilda champion, but an AFL champion.

    None other than Robert Harvey!

In his 21st season of AFL/VFL footy, 367 games (and counting) which is a Club Record and is either 4th or 5th most all time. 2 Brownlow medals (1997 he actually came 2nd to John Longmire but he was ineligible. In 1998 he won his brownlow outright!). Numerous B&F's, All Australian selections etc. (I dunno how many though)

3 'night premierships' and played in 1 (losing :(  ) Grand Final.

His skills today are as good as ever (just not his body and speed) and he still contributes plenty to StKilda. A top bloke as well, very modest and all. Just an absolute Champion!!

So, I would say the greatest player to play for StKilda is Robert Harvey

  5. Seeing as i am a Hawk's fan from way way back i have to say Peter Hudson, and Jason Dunstall....

Yeah Binga Dermie was'nt too bad for a pretty boy...

  6. Even though he treats his women badly, it has to be Wayne Carey. Captained the roos to two premierships and was the best forward we have had for ever.

  7. Bernie Quinlan was my favourite to the extent BERNIE was one of the first words my son said as I would shout it out every time he took a mark and you would be confident he would kick a goal unlike brownie who is a bit hot or cold

    GO LIONS

  8. Dougie Hawkins and Scott West.

  9. Being a Swan's supporter, I would have to say Locket, (in my time that is).

  10. CAPTAIN BLOOD for sure! They would just not have the same great intangables without him! Intangables are often ovelooked but can make ALL the difference!

  11. Hawthorn, Don Scott.

he was a great player but has also been phenomenal for the club. he was the person who stopped us merging with Melbourne in the 1970's i believe. he is still at the club now influencing it.

so for mine, Don Scott of Hawthorn - great player and great help around the club.

  12. In the old days it might have been King Richard or John Coleman... later maybe Hutchinson or later still Watson but in my opinion, it was Hird.

  13. As I am too young to have seen E.J Whitten play it would be Scott Wynd, Scott West, Chris Grant and Dougie Hawkins

  14. Hey cossy, mate I'll only go by the players I've seen because its so hard when you get into different eras, styles, fitness levels and professionalism and I'll say Greg (diesel) Williams

he was a tad dirty but an absolute gun for a stocky slightly overweight guy,his hand passes were the best in the business and the couple of years where he won the brownlow and came second the next year he was having regular games above 40+ possessions in an era that didn't play the possession footy like today, dual brownlow winner and should have been 3-43 poss and didn't pile a vote what a joke.

  15. Chris Judd

played with him at our Jr club

  16. In my era... oh its too hard to pick just the one..

    Plugga, Kelly and Roos

They each have a special place in my Swanny heart..

  17. Most would say Gary Ablett senior.

I reckon its probably Polly Farmer. I only vaguely remember seeing him live but I've seen old TV of him.  Second choice Gary Hocking.

I loved Barry Stoneham and Billy Brownless too .... and let's not forget JACKO 'I'm a frickin individual' Jackson, great comic value when the team was otherwised stuffed!

  18. How do you decide between Graham Farmer and Gary Ablett, Sr.?

That is the battle for Geelong supporters.

There are a few other fellows to wear navy and white that weren't so bad themselves.

    Reg Hickey

    Lloyd Hagger

    Doug Wade

    Garry Hocking

    Bernie White

    Fred Flanagan

    Bill Goggin

    Sammy Newman

  19. How old are you Cozzy boy, you never saw the great jack dyer play unless you look much younger then you are, lol.

Mate for me it's undoubtedly Roycey Hart, Balmey said on SEN with KB, that when Royce retired when he was only 28, because of knees injuries that he became a skills coach at tigerland, and that he was still the best at all the skill work at the club, best kick, passer of the ball etc. KB agreed as he was there too.

Jack did invent the drop punt and played and coached for many years, my nan, a saints fan told me, he was so tough to watch play, he didn't care if you were the biggest on the fields or the smallest, he would still try and run right through you, Ahhhh the good old days.

Harley B,  you have your dates a little mixed up i think mate, that merger between the hawks and the demons wasn't in the 70's, more like the 90's i would think.  i recall Big Don, ripping the hawk off the proposed jumper, good on him.

  20. WestCoast Eagles: hmm it would be a toss up between Peter Matera, Chris Judd and Ben cousins

  21. Jack Dyer or KB - cant decide both legends of the tiges!

  22. Essendon Fan im 24, so in my time watching the Bombers i would say James Hird for sure

  23. i think it is shane crawford and dipper. i go for the hawks
