    The ORIGINAL colts Triple Crown (first called as such in 1853) in England was last won by the mighty Nijinsky II in 1970.

    The fillies Triple Crown was last won by OH SO SHARP in 1985.

    The American Triple Crown (not called as such until 1930)was last won by Affirmed in 1978.
