The last player from the Original 6 era to play in an NHL game was Wayne Cashman who last played with Boston in the 1983 playoffs.

The last goalie from the Original 6 era to play in an NHL game was Rogie Vachon who last played with Boston in 1982.

Habs fan: LITY Jr., eh? Cool. But I do know my hockey. =) But thanks for the recognition. I thought I'd never be compared to LITY. I guess I know am. lol. Thanks =P

EDIT: tomjc43 - it is Wayne Cashman. He played one game in the 1964 -1965 season. It would of been Carol Vadnais but because Cashman's team (Boston) had made the playoffs, he lasted longer. Good try, though.

There was a young defence man with the 1966-67 Montreal Canadiens in 1966-67 and the New Jersey Devils in 1982-83. Lasting one year longer than Dave Keon.

Wayne Cashman did not play his first NHL game until after expansion but he also played his last game in 1982-83.

The player who is last of an era was Carol Vadnais.

Cashman was a Junior call up who sat on the bench for one game in 1964-65. This was common in the 60's to do this so that they could cheat on their junior allowance. They did this with my ex cousin too. Actually brought him up to the NHL for a wedding present as a bonus.
