  1. Brind'Amour almost did it- but got cold feet and called his agent seconds before they were about to fax the signed contract. Played college hockey first.

Really I can't think of anyone recent most take the juniors or college route these days.

  2. Agree with the guy above me.

  3. With the continued growth and expansion growth of Junior Hockey in USA, hence the USHL & NAHL (many guys are being drafted out of these league nowadays giving it much credibility).. I dont think you will see anymore. The better players will be playing in the American junior leagues not in a high school program. High School is like house league nowadays.

To answer our Q.. I think they got it up above me.

  4. Jeremy Roenick in 1988? He and Tom Barasso are the only ones I know of.

  5. Brind'Amour didn't play High School hockey, he played for the Notre Dame Hounds which is Tier 2 Junior A in Saskatchewan and part of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.   It's a private school/organization (not all the players that have played for the team have attended school there as per SJHL regulations) that specializes in athletics.

  6. Bobby Carpenter was the first.
