I read an interview in which Rossi said that he is retireing when he turns 31/32... When do riders retire and why? Is there an age in which you can race no more? And who was the oldest rider in moto gp ever? :)

  1. I think it may be Jezza McWilliams for the all time record with a blessing od 43. 43 and still rides like a god. If only DarkDog threw some cash at that Aprillia all them years ago ........ never mind.

Mr Alex Barros. 36 years young, and still took a podium ahead of Stoner, for the current "Old man"

Might be wrong on that answer babes, so dont quote me!

  2. Mcwilliams as far back as I can remember.  It depends on the riders...the amount of abuse they can endure.  When some men are above the age of 30 their bodies stay sore just a few days longer than it did when they were in their 20's.  These days I counldnt see a rider who is champion above the age of 32 (give or take).  Competitive yes.

With that thought...I still have my hopes up for a Garry Mccoy comeback!

  3. don't know about the riders but as for age of riders retiring it is usually around 30 when an average rider either loses interest a bit or injury's catch them up or teams stop giving them the ride! the riders that last longer are the ones with smooth riding styles that avoid injury's and get on with there teams!
