  1. Richard Nixon stepped down when he knew he would have a good chance of getting impeached. Too bad Clinton didn't step down after he got impeached. I see Nixon as the better man of the two because he did step down. Clinton on the other hand not only did not step down, he taught everyone including teens that oral s*x is not s*x.

  2. Nixon, because of the Watergate scandal

  3. richard nixon.

I was because of the watergate scandal.  He knew he would be successfully impeached for his role in that.  Probably a good call on his part to get out.

  4. i think george washington. people wanted him to stay in office but he decided it was only right to serve two terms. thats why almost every president has only served two terms. until, one president, served four and after him they made it law that you can only serve two.

  5. Richard Nixon.

    Watergate.

  6. Nixon stepped down to prevent his impending impeachment.

  7. Richard M. Nixon in 1974

  8. nixon, he was going to be impeached (so he could be tried as civilian for watergate), didnt want disgrace, resigned and ford pardoned him

  9. Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9, 1913–April 22, 1994) was the thirty-seventh President of the United States (1969–1974) and the only American president to resign from that office, which he did on August 9, 1974.

  10. nixon
