Who was the player to watch in the 2010-11 National Football League season? - Part 1
As far as final thoughts go for the 2010-11 National Football League season, what is an image, player or memory, which does not have anything to do with the Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers, which stands out in your mind?
Before we get to that, there is one thing to say to start on a high note. Let’s get a Collective Bargaining Agreement done! The 2010 season was amazing! Did you see the excitement that football created over the past year? 111 million American viewers tuned
into the Super Bowl alone! That’s the most viewers for a single program in the history of the United States of America, crushing the old record of last year’s Super Bowl by over four million viewers! Besides those 111 million, almost 52 million viewers watched
the Super Bowl outside of the United States!
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let’s calm down a bit and get back to the point of the article. A player that sticks out this season is Philadelphia Eagles quarter-back Michael Vick. We all know that this is pretty obvious, but for a player,
or any person for that matter, to open up their life in front of the entire world to watch and to get it back together and come and have an amazing season like he had with the Philadelphia Eagles. There is no other word for what he did except outstanding.
The Eagles and their head coach, Andy Reid, deserve a lot of praise for giving an opportunity to Vick to make himself a better man and Vick deserves even more praise for taking the bull by the horns, settling down and becoming a ballplayer.
We all love quarter-backs. Admit it, you know you do. New England Patriots’ Tom Brady, New York Giants’ Peyton Manning and New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees. The list can go on and on. But St. Louis Rams quarter-back Sam Bradford has really shown everyone that
even though the Rams may not be the most talented team in the NFL, if you have a great quarter-back that can hang in there, stay healthy the entire season and throw a lot of accurate throws like Bradford did, the future is unlimited.
Rams’ fans who were watching Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers play in Super Bowl XLV were probably thinking that they have a quarter-back just like Rodgers in St. Louis. They have spent a lot of money on him and he can probably be just like Rodgers and get the
Rams a Super Bowl ring.
Bradford is just an amazing player, as he is poised, focused and determined and he really values the game, if not loves it. The Rams just have to do a better job of using Bradford’s potential to the fullest. They have Josh McDaniels now as their offensive
coordinator and they just have to get some players around Bradford on the outside, along with running back Steven Jackson.
The way that the defence is flying around shows that this franchise has a good chance of making a lot of noise next year, but they have to make a splash in the NFL Draft by going out and getting a legitimate receiver, hopefully one like Julio Jones from
Alabama.
