  1. http://tudorhistory.org/boleyn/

    Ann Boleyn

  2. Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII.  The official reason for her death was adultery,  not having a son wouldn't have been enough cause.  The King had quite the sexual apetite and did whatever he had to do to secure the next in line...seemingly legitimate.

  3. Anne Boleyn, the mother of Elizabeth I.

  4. The two most famous queens that were both beheaded were Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard. Not only they were wives of King Henry VIII, they were also cousins and shared simliar fates that ended their lives. Anne Boleyn was a lady in waiting for Queen Katherine of Aragon (King Henry VIII's first wife, a Catholic from Spain) and Katherine Howard was a lady in waiting for Queen Anne of Cleeves (King Henry VIII's 4th wife, a radical protestant from German).

As well, both Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard were related through their uncle Duke of Norfolk, who also "planned"  their destiny for them. He had arranged both of his ill-fated neices to become Queen of England and hoping that one of them would produce a male heir. He wanted their family to be the most powerful one in the country, next to the King and have a good legitimate reason to also claim the english throne.

However, both Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard could not produce a male heir. They both had many love affairs and very intimiate relationships with beautiful young men. When Anne married King Henry VIII, he was already in his mid 40's and when Katherine became Queen, he was old enough to be her grandfather. Although Anne Boleyn was crowned Queen of England and only give birth to a daugther (future Queen Elizabeth I), Katherine Howard was never in fact, crowned queen because her coronation never took place.

Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard met their fate when they were both charged with adultery and witchcraft. They were locked away at the Tower of London and was beheaded on the scaffold. Anne Boleyn died on May 19, 1536 and Katherine Howard died on February 13, 1542.

  5. Wasn't it Anne Bolelyn, Elizabeth the 1st's mother?  That's how Henry VIII got rid of her, she lost her head and he went on the next wife...

  6. It was one of the wives of Henry VIII. Marie Antoinette was executed with her husband during the French Revolution for very different reasons.

Anne Boleyn was executed on trumped up charges of adultery and incest to clear the way for the King to marry Jane Seymour. Of course, part of Anne's problem was that she had failed to deliver the male heir Henry so desperately wanted and gave him a daughter, the future Elizabeth I.

Kathryn Howard, who bore Henry no children, was executed on charges of adultery.

  7. It was King Henry VIII's wife, Anne Boyeln. But, that's not the way the king spun it. It was supposedly because she  had an affair with her brother, I believe the story goes.

  8. I don't know about queen, but I do know about Henry VIII's wives!

  9. Do you mean Ann Bolyn, the second wife of King Henry the VIII of England?  If so there was a lot more to it than that.

  10. the german one w/ big knockers. henry the viii did not like the shape of her body. he liked skinny women.

  11. Ann Boleyn, wife to Henry 8

  12. Anne Boleyn - she was loved by the people of England and after Henry VIII remarried the people did not bond with the new queen (or really any of the 5 queens after).

He accused her of incest (She was his brother's widow.), tried her, found her guilty and beheaded her.

CindyLu emailed me to my error.

Anne was accused of adultery and beheaded. She was the second wife of Henry VIII. Catherine of Aragon was Henry's first wife. She was his brother, Arthur's widow. Henry VIII accused her of incest and the marriage was found null and void. (This was done because she did not produce a male heir.) She was not killed. The public loved Catherine not Anne.

    Sorry for the misinformation.

  13. Bloody Mary

  14. Anne Boleyn was accused of trumped-up charges of adultery with her brother and 4 other courtiers. They were all beheaded, after a trial that included her own father on the jury. The Lord Mayor of London himself said that he could see nothing in the charges against her, except an excuse to get rid of her.

Anne's real "crime" was that she had given birth to a daughter (the future Queen Elizabeth I) instead of a son. She had several miscarriages after that, late enough in term to be seen that they were male.

Anne was Henry VIII's second wife, after he claimed that his marriage to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, was illegal because she had been his elder brother's widow. Catherine had one daughter, the future Mary I (Bloody Mary) after a marriage of 25 years.

  15. I think you're thinking of Henry VIII's 1st wife.  I think her name was Ann Bolyn.

  16. Anne Boleyn?

  17. queen anne boleyn, for having a girl (princess elizabeth) as a child.
