  1. I think John Virgo was a good player, he must have been good to be still commentating on TV now!

  2. Jimmy White.

Not as good as Davis, Hendrey or many of the new guys but they all remind me of robots. Jimmy has a spark.

  3. The "Rocket" Ronnie O'Sullivan simply because there is no fault to his game he can play both hands and his potting and tactial play is out of this world, Though i personally like Ken Dohorty

  4. Ray Reardon was always my favorite because he looked just like my Granddad!

  5. Pure talent I would go with Alex Higgins.  Wasted it by boozing his talent away but I still think he was the best as far as raw talent goes.

  6. I think it's Steve Davis. He attempted over 100 finals in his career and has a lot of trophies

  7. who the h**l would no that

  8. If you go back far enough then Joe Davis.  More recently it is between Jimmy White and Alex Higgins.

  9. When you use the word 'gifted' in a professional sport such as snooker it's always best to refer to how the players rate each other.  Most players in the modern era will refer to Ronnie as the most gifted player, although Ding Junhui (currently ranked worlds 61) could give him a run for his money when he matures.

However I don't think we should forget the likes of the original Joe Davis, holding the title for a consecutive 15 years back in the 1920's - 1940's (save for the gap in play during WW2).  Fred Davis and John Pulman are also worth a mention.
