  1. The Rock was the only professional boxer to retire undefeated and retire AS the heavyweight champion.

There have been a number of boxers to leave the sport of boxing with perfect records in tact, but Marciano was the only heavyweight to do so with his heavyweight title.

Most recently Joe Mesi retired to persue a career in politics.  While he is 36-0 with a couple of (very) lightly regarded belts to his name, he is not considered to be anything but a joke by most boxing pundits.

Anyway, if the question is about heavyweight champions, everbody here has it right- Rocky Marciano.

  2. rocky marciano was but we also have 2 undefeated champs right now joe calzaghae and floyd mayweather.

  3. Rocco Marchegiano

  4. Well the undefeated champion in Boxing was Rocky Merciano.

  5. Rocky marciano was the only undefeated heavy weight

  6. um uh you guys are all wrong recardo lopez, young mitchell ,,jack mcauliffe,,jimmy barry, terry marsh, laszlo papp, sven ottke.all these guys retired undefeated.wow its bad when people don't research there info.

  7. Mark-Andrew M hit it out of the park. Those three are the only champions to retire undefeated. Its a good question to ask to win bets by the way. And thumbs up to Big Bopper for using Rocks real name. Yeah!!!!

  8. Rocky Marciano- The Rock!

  9. Rocky Marciano was the only world champion boxer to retire undefeated.

  10. In the past, there are 3 fighters that I can think of that retired undefeated champions or world titleholders:

-Rocky Marciano (49-0, 43 KOs)- retired as heavyweight champion

-Ricardo Lopez (51-0-1, 38 KOs)- retired as light flyweight champion

-Sven Ottke (34-0, 6 KOs)- retired as IBF super middleweight titleholder

Currently, there are some champions or titleholders that are undefeated, but obviously that may change, here they are:

-Ruslan Chagaev (24-0-1, 17 KOs)- WBA heavyweight titleholder

-Joe Calzaghe (45-0, 32 KOs)- super middleweight and light heavyweight champion

-Chad Dawson (26-0, 17 KOs)- WBC light heavyweight titleholder

-Zsolt Erdei (29-0, 17 KOs)- WBO light heavyweight titleholder

-Lucian Bute (22-0, 18 KOs)- IBF super middleweight titleholder

-Kelly Pavlik (33-0, 29 KOs)- middleweight champion

-Arthur Abraham (26-0, 21 KOs)- IBF middleweight titleholder

-Joachim Alcine (30-0, 19 KOs)- WBA junior middleweight titleholder

-Sergei Dzinziruk (35-0, 22 KOs)- WBO junior middleweight titleholder

-Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (39-0, 25 KOs)- welterweight champion

-Miguel Cotto (32-0, 26 KOs)- WBA welterweight titleholder

-Timothy Bradley (22-0, 11 KOs)- WBC junior welterweight titleholder

-Edwin Valero (23-0, 23 KOs)- WBA super featherweight titleholder

-Joan Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs)- WBO super featherweight titleholder

-Chris John (41-0-1, 22 KOs)- WBA featherweight titleholder

-Jorge Linares (25-0, 16 KOs)- WBC featherweight titleholder

-Steve Molitor (27-0, 10 KOs)- IBF junior featherweight titleholder

-Wladimir Sidorenko (21-0-2, 7 KOs)- WBA bantamweight titleholder

-Omar Narvaez (27-0-2, 17 KOs)- WBO flyweight titleholder

-Ivan Calderon (31-0, 6 KOs)- light flyweight champion

-Oleydong Sithsamerchai (26-0, 10 KOs)- WBC strawweight titleholder

Edit: Adam R- wow its bad when you actually did research them and you don't know how to spell RICARDO.  And if you're talking about world titles, then Papp should not be included.  He was going to get a world title shot, but couldn't so he retired as European champion.
