  1. This should answer your question.

  2. Sailing provides a good link...

14 presidents have been freemasons --- Lincoln was about to submit his petition when he decided to run for President and withdrew it because he didn't want to be elected because he was a freemason. he intended to re-submit it when he was done with the Presidency...

  3. There have been 14 U.S. Presidents who were Freemasons, so the shorter list is to subtract the remaining 29 from the following list of Presidents who were Masons:

Washington, Monroe, Jackson, Polk, Buchanan, A. Johnson, Garfield-(assassinated), McKinley-(assassinated), T. Roosevelt

Taft, Harding, F. Roosevelt, Truman, Ford.

Madison is sometime rumored to have been a Freemason but no evidence has ever been found to confirm this. Jefferson was thought for many years to have been a Mason but this has proved untrue.

Lincoln petitioned to join a Lodge with the intent to become a Mason following his presidency, and LBJ was made a First Degree Mason but did not complete the process.

At least 5 other Presidents were known to be anti-Masons, including Founding Father John Adams.
