Who were the heroes of the olympics past these 4?

I was thinking that with all the phelps-mania and bolt-mania there wasn't much coverage on anyone else from the perspective of an american watching nbc. I can think of Dara Torres, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt, and the Nastia-Shawna combo in gymnastics....who else would you say made a name for themselves these past two weeks?

Chris Hoy. His event was taken out of the Olympics so he changes his training and wins three Olympic golds

Rebecca Romero. Last Olympics she got a gold in rowing this year she got a gold in Cycling.

Matthias Steiner who had an argument with the Austrian Weightlifting Federation, he moved to Germany and whilst waiting three years for citizenship to come through met and married a local lady who in the run up to the games was sadly killed in a car crash. He won gold by 1 kg

Matthew Emmonds blew the lead in the shooting for the 2nd successful Olympics. In Athens on his last shot he fired at the wrong target and scored 0, this time he needed to get 7 or better but he got the shakes and could get 4.

The Iceland men's handball team got to the final, everyone had the day off in Iceland and cinemas were showing it for free. They lost but got only their fourth medal ever.

not much. but i think people like Chen RouLin deserves some credit. Shes only 15, and she dealt with a LOT of pressure, but she STILL managed a perfect dive to win gold.

the womens pole vaulter (a russian I think) she answered her American counterpart with a devastating show of her superiority. She not only shut her up, she humbled her, as the American had been sounding off. I found that, and Usian Bolts' 100 metres and 200 metres race (which was also done in devastating style) left no one unsure about who was the champion/s, both got world and olympic records on the way.Also a couple of  Australians - Mitchum won the 10 metre diving from the chinese on the last dive and Hooker won the pole vault the first field event gold for a long time. These are just some of the highlights
